Individual Speech and Language Therapy

Therapy sessions are provided in a natural environment (home, community facility) to ensure carryover of skills and increase the involvement of relevant family members or caregivers.  Sessions are 60 minutes.  Therapy programs are designed to meet the specific needs of the client.  No two therapy programs are alike.


Speech and Language Evaluations

Evaluations are comprehensive and take place in a natural environment.  The evaluation session includes a thorough interview with the client and/or the family/caregiver, assessment of all speech and language skills, and discussion of the assessment results.

Some disorders that can be assessed and treated at our practice are:

Aphasia - a communication disorder that affects a person's ability to speak, read, write, and understand as the result of a stroke or brain damage

Apraxia (Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Apraxia of Speech in Adults) - a motor speech disorder making it difficult for a person to coordinate the movements of the mouth for speech

Dysarthria a motor speech disorder resulting from weak and impaired muscles impacting speech production

Fluency Disorder (Stuttering) - a communication disorder that affects a person's speech fluency

Language Disorders - communication impairments that impact a person's ability to understand and communicate with others

Speech Sound Disorders - communication impairments that impact a person's ability to pronounce sounds and words

Cognitive-Linguistic Disorders - communication impairments that impact a person's cognition and language skills
